Comparison between Mytan^(®) and Travogen^(®) in the Treatment of Dermatomycoses

Abstract
|
|
|
In a double blind study, the efficacy of Mytan®, Travogen® and a placebo were tested in de rmatomycoses.
This study, of 63 patients with dermatomycosis, was carried out during 4months period from June, 1984 to September, 1984.
The results were as follows:
1. Both the clinical and mycclogical effects of the two antifungal agents were indistinguishable. Both were significantly more effective than the placebo.
2. 2. No side effects were observed in both Mytan® and Travogen® treated groups.
3. Isolated fungi were Trichophyton rubrum (52.4%), Trichophyton mentagrophytes (22.2%), Microsporum canis (9. 5%), Epidermophyton floccosum (7.9%%), Candida albicans (7.9%) in each dermatomycosis.
In the present study, Mytan® and Travogen® have been shown to be comparable in antimycotic activity.
